Name this large falcon?

well i saw a falcon last year. it had dark golden feather the same way as a peregrine falcon. its was about 5-7 feet tall while standing. i found it in illinois. wing span was about 11 feet, but i am probably wrong about this. Its been bugging me, i have been doing so much research on what species it is.
