Is USA the richest country?

I live in NY. i love USA, but i just recently visited bogota, Colombia and I realized us Americans live so much more comfertable then they do. My friend tells me the same and hes from poland. Is every other country suffering of poverty? is USA the only country were people live nicely and get great salaries?
