Does being yourself really work on getting girls?

I don't really believe in all that "just be yourself and the girl will like you" crap because I don't think it will work for me. I'll tell you about myself and I'll show you what I mean. My name is Luther Milo from Mt.Pleasant, S.C. I'm about to turn 19 and I've never had a girlfriend,never had a drink before, never been to a party, and I'm black. I listen to Korn most of the time. I'm a really good singer. My favorite shows on tv are Degri and watching the NBA. I'm about 5 foot 4 and weigh around 140 pounds. I don't have a lot of interests and knowledge about things in the world{like different kinds of drugs, politics,etc.} So what do you honestly think about me? Please give me honest responses.
